Read previewBryce Dallas Howard debunked the theory that Taylor Swift wrote the new spy thriller "Argylle." "But he had no idea of this rumor until his daughter ran into his room and was like 'Why didn't you tell me that Taylor Swift wrote 'Argylle'? "It's really, really, really bizarre, but a huge honor to have any association whatsoever with Taylor Swift," the actor added. Vaughn also addressed the rumor at the film's London premiere, telling Variety: "It's not Taylor Swift, but books do not write themselves. I am begging Elly Conway to come out of the shadows because this Taylor Swift thing freaked me out.

Actor Richard Belzer poses for photographers at the premiere of the film 'V for Vendetta' in New York March 13, 2006. Actor Richard Belzer, best known for his role on the beloved crime procedural "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," died at the age of 78 on Sunday, NBC confirmed in a statement Sunday. "Anyone who ever had the pleasure of watching Richard Belzer portray Det. It was the first time he'd appear as John Munch , a detective that would soon become synonymous with Belzer. Mariska Hargitay, who portrays Benson, said on her Instagram Sunday that she loved Belzer, "now and forever."
Police dramas often define a clear line between good and bad. But Cuban American actor Maurice Compte, who plays Captain Mike Duarte on the 24th season of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” says the policemen and gang members he grew up with make that line more blurry in real life. The actor told NBC News that he knew both policemen and gang members — some of whom he said were in the Latin Kings. Beyond the imaginary TV line that divides characters into good and bad, there's a more complicated reality that drives both sides to belong to a community, he said. “At its best, I understood why they were doing it,” Compte said, referring to the gang members that he knew from his neighborhood.
And while this shouldn't bother banks — they make plenty of money doing what they do best — this is Wall Street. In fact, the face of Wall Street, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, literally declared war on fintechs on an earnings call in 2021. But, as Insider's Bianca Chan and Reed Alexander recently outlined in a fantastic feature, banks' bid to topple fintechs is hopeless. Whether it's JPMorgan's digital-only bank Finn or, more recently, Goldman Sachs' Marcus, banks' attempt to cosplay as fintechs rarely ends well. Over numerous seasons of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” the tough and persistent assistant district attorney convicts scores of sex offenders and delivers justice to their victims. An internal NYPD investigation in 2018 criticized the department’s handling of sexual assault cases. A representative for Dick Wolf, the creator of “Law & Order,” did not respond to a request for comment. In a 2020 special celebrating the long-running “SVU,” Mariska Hargitay, who plays detective Olivia Benson, spoke of the positive impact the show had on sexual assault survivors. Others have argued that “Law & Order” and police procedurals more broadly shouldn’t be expected to reflect reality precisely because they are fictional – a point that Oliver acknowledged in his show.
